We plan the route according to your wishes; we give recommendations according to distances and relevant available accommodation.
Time taken between two locations will not be longer than you will have plenty of time to have stops and also detours if you like.
A short or a long round trip may of course be combined with a longer stay in one place.
Airports
The mainland of Portugal has three international airports - Faro (FAO), Lisboa (LIS) and Porto (OPO).
The distance between them is:
Porto - Lisboa: 317 km
Lisboa - Faro: 277 km
Porto - Faro: 564 km
Depending on how long your holiday is, and how much you want to experience of the country it could be an advantage to fly to Porto and leave from Lisbon.
Madeira has Funchal Airport (FNC), and also Porto Santo (PXO).
From the mainland to Madeira you must fly from Lisbon (1h40m) or Porto (1h55m).
